TO PROVIDE A VOICE
FOR THE VOICELESS
THROUGH PRACTICAL CHANGE
It is our aim to mobilise together our generation and bring about change for those less fortunate in Australia. After spending time with those struggling, we developed an understanding of the issues and identified areas we can make a difference in the lives of those who need help.
We aim to make a difference through 2 avenues:
1) Serving out on the streets, talking to those in need providing hope with practical assistance like food, clothes & sanitary items.
We're often told it's not food or money that is needed but respect, dignity & our time. We endeavour to restore these basic human needs.
2) Giving those on the streets a platform to tell their stories through videos as a voice for the voiceless bringing awareness to the human side of the problem. We use Mobilise video, our creative wing to release films that tell the many stories of humanity and will serve as a catalyst for a wider conversation for change throughout our society.
As a generation, we have the power to make a change, so why not us?
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2016, Mobilise started from a shared curiosity between 2 youths in the eastern suburbs of Victoria. Originating from one simple question; in a nation so wealthy like Australia; why does anyone sleep on the street and what can we do about it?
Utilising social media, the movement gathered traction online developing into the model we now know. We have monthly outreach teams in Melbourne, Sydney & Adelaide, providing functional care in the form of care-packages while spreading love and care to those who need it most.
We understand & acknowledge the platform we have as youth to educate our peers and contribute to a wider conservsation for change across social causes. We want Mobilise to become that movement and aim to not only provide functional assistance but also educate our generation on the ways that we can all make a difference together.
The vision is to provide a beacon of hope for all those in need while raising awareness of the problems they face using social media. We support those struggling, helping them to get back on their feet & documenting their stories through video.
We are a group of youth with a simple vision: To make a difference in the world we live in with the tools and resources that we have around us.
If not us, Who? If not now, When?
HOMELESS NOT HELPLESS
100,000+ PEOPLE CLASSED AS HOMELESS IN AUSTRALIA
42% OF THOSE HOMELESS ARE UNDER 25 YEARS OLD
24% HOMELESS DUE TO DOMESTIC/FAMILY VIOELNCE
We aim to humanise the problem of homelessness and return dignity to those affected. If sanitary and housing needs are looked after people will be empowered to pursue goals like education or employment.
There needs to be a nation-wide education on the issues to better enable society to interact with the homeless. Those less fortunate must be equipped with the skills and tools they need to change their situation along with the hope that there is a bright future ahead.
Awareness & a conversation for change will enable us to grow what originated as a grassroots cause into a nation-wide movement.
We invite you to join with us on this journey.
